How to Give a Killer Presentation

How to Give a Killer Presentation Want to give a killer presentation? One that won’t put people to sleep? Donna Rosato, MONEY’s Careerist, has tips for you: Engage the audience. Ask a question or take a quick poll to get your audience interacting with you. Use personal stories. We’re hard-wired to pay attention when people tell a story. They can liven up even a basic presentation about quarterly earnings. Don’t read from paper. It’s hard to memorize, but reciting a written presentation will turn people off. Instead, jot down bullet points on a notecard you can refer to. And practice. Keep it simple â€" no visual aids. Have people look at you and listen. If you have props or handouts, people will get distracted. Make eye contact with everyone, not just the important people. It’s okay to be nervous because that’ll keep you on your toes.
